Passover Surprise! Jesus is Risen!

Charley West gave a sermon March 31 explaining the surprising origin of Easter. We will endeavor to post his unedited notes here as
Easter Surprise. To hear the sermon, go to www.robertsmoreofjesus.com home page and click on the audio. The surprise revealed in the sermon may be a little different from the Passover surprise we explain below.
We want to emphasize that Passover is not a funeral. It was a joyous celebration when Israel came out of slavery in Egypt, and it is still a joyous time—the most joyous feast of the year. We celebrate our freedom in a Jesus who is no longer suffering and no longer on a cross. He is risen. He is risen indeed!
The third day of Unleavened Bread celebrates specifically His resurrection since He was indeed resurrected on the third day, 3 full days and nights after His burial on Passover day (Mat. 12:40; Luke 23:54).
We and the Christian world celebrate the same thing but in different ways. We believe as Charley's sermon explains that our celebration passes the biblical test.

Re: Easter Surprise!
I find that interesting yet I cannot see anyone willing to change because of it. How is his teaching supposed to help anyone?

Re: Easter Surprise!
The traditions of ancient times always seem to have more influence over religion than does the truth. I do not think that people will easily give up their traditions even when Jesus returns. S why try?

Re: Passover Surprise! Jesus is Risen!
I believe that there is more paganisn in modern christianity than there is truth. There seems to be thousand of errors readily accepted and nearly all truth rejected. Is this because the Sabbath has been rejected or that people love lies more than the truth?

Re: Passover Surprise! Jesus is Risen!
Steve, probably for both reasons you cited. God has shown our apostle that there are 9211 doctrines of demons in the churches today.

Re: Passover Surprise! Jesus is Risen!
I do not understand how you can tell when a holy year begins and how you can tell when Jesus was crusified when every year it bounces around? Should it not be fixed like Christmas?

Re: Passover Surprise! Jesus is Risen!
Wade, God's Hebrew calendar is different from our modern Roman calendar, so it always "bounces around" since it's a different method of calculating. Jesus was born on the Day of Trumpets 4 BC, which fell on September 22 that year. We celebrate His first coming and His return on the date in God's calendar, not on September 22. We are to follow God's standards, not the world's. We don't do things the world's way, but God's way, even if it can seem complicated. God holds His church leadership responsible for fixing these dates. If we made it like Christmas and having a fixed day in our modern calendar, we would be disobedient to God.

Re: Passover Surprise! Jesus is Risen!
Pastor Arnold, Great to receive the first feedback from those keeping this Passover around the world. We plan to post a more complete version of our apostle's teaching last night on our church site soon, for those who will keep the second Passover, and we also hope to upload the video on www.robertsmoreofjesus.com.

We had 23 here for Passover. Everyone enjoyed it and felt the freedom from the teaching given. We look foreward to the days of unleavened bread. Be blessed.

Re: Passover Surprise! Jesus is Risen!
I enjoyed this passover with three of my friends. And we got together last night for the Night to Be Much Remembered. There was a fellowship there that I had never expirienced before in my life. Everyone left very uplifted and rejoicing at the good time that we had.

Re: Passover Surprise! Jesus is Risen!
If Jesus is risen why is it that He is still shown dead on a cross?

Re: Passover Surprise! Jesus is Risen!
Leonard, Because the universal church worships the demon of cruelty, and they value the ways of death more than the ways of life.
