FreedomTruthSeekers:
"Grace and Righteousness"

Grace and righteousness are two misunderstood subjects. Righteousness is a gift from Jesus who paid the price for our sins. Grace is His ability to keep the law, which is the standard of righteousness. Grace, or Jesus in us, allows us to fulfill all righteousness, obeying God’s laws of love. Accept Jesus' grace to walk in righteousness, by His power, not yours. Series runs from May 24th to June 7th on FreedomTruthSeekers.com.

When Does Spanking Become Brutality?

More and more we hear the media saying spanking is harmful and brutal. What is the truth? And what are the limits in this God-ordained method of discipline?

Re: When Does Spanking Become Brutality?

I think that people are so full of anger rage that they cannot discipline for the purpose of teaching but only for expressing their anger and cruelty. Therefore no one should discipline with corporal punishment anymore.

Re: When Does Spanking Become Brutality?

I think that people want to punish others that cannot fight back because they are so full of lies and hatred that they have no room for for truth or love. People in such condition do not know how to correct anyone including themselves.

Re: When Does Spanking Become Brutality?

I was abused by perfectionist religious zealots who were so full of hat that I still walk with a limp. I was beatten because I got poisoned on the food my mother fed me. She told me that I would never be forgiven by God for getting food poisoning.

Re: When Does Spanking Become Brutality?

I do not think that there is enough people that know how to walk in love to be able to discipline without revenge setting in.

Re: When Does Spanking Become Brutality?

Is it possible that since Dr. Spock we have a world that does not know the difference between abuse, violance, vengeance and what it mean to discipline? I think that modern phycology has created the distruction of the family and love between a child and their parents.

Re: When Does Spanking Become Brutality?

Graham,
Yes, it is indeed possible. While it may be true, as some of our bloggers have stated, that many parents today are not able to administer proper, loving, corporal discipline, it is God's ideal as revealed in the Proverbs. We pray that Christian parents will mature in order to properly discipline their children. Proper spanking is not abuse unless it is administered in anger/rage rather than love.

Re: When Does Spanking Become Brutality?

In all my years of life I have seen a total deterioration of society because of the lack of teaching of God's word and and the lack of discipline. People prefer to live like degenerates rather than move up into Godly success.

Re: When Does Spanking Become Brutality?

Spanking is brutality when one uses it for releasing a parents frustrations and cruelty when one gets pleasure out of administrating it. My father specialized in cruelty and never knew how to give love. To this day he can not figger out why his sons will have nothing to do with him.

Re: When Does Spanking Become Brutality?

It is possible that the brutality has become the only way of correcting a child since the government is intent on criminalizing all reasonable form of discipline. Even God will have to brutalize the children of Israel in order to correct them according to the covenant.

Re: When Does Spanking Become Brutality?

I think that some children are so spoiled that they are only good for brutalizing. They have no appreciation of what love is.

Re: When Does Spanking Become Brutality?

I agree with Conor, some children need to be brutalized because they have no morals , no integraty and and no truth in them. The only way to touch their soul is through violence. And I would fully agree as long as they are not someone trying that on my children.

Re: Humorous Tidbit Test: Where is Tennis Mentioned in the Bible?
Who advised believers to sing? Can you find where Jesus was singing?
Re: Humorous Tidbit Test: Where is Tennis Mentioned in the Bible?
Here is the answer to why was Paul like a horse. He liked Timothy. And as far as we can find, the shortest man in the Bible was Bildad the Shuhite (shoe-height). He was one of Job's "comforters". And he was of little comfort. Job 2:11
Re: What Do You Do for Fun (that Jesus would approve of)?
Our pastor said that Jesus does not approve of have fun. People are to be seen working not playing in order to be the light of the world.
Re: Can You Pass the Humility Test?
Glenn,
You are very perceptive. Of course, most of the comments are meant to be humorous. And truly humble people don't compare themselves with others.
Re: Why Do You or Don't You Observe Christmas and New Years?
JD Misto,
Check our site and you will find much on these feasts under "Celebrations." God bless you in keeping these feasts of God.
Re: Humorous Tidbit Test: Where is Tennis Mentioned in the Bible?
Hope someone can figure how Paul was like a horse. And maybe they can figure also who was the shortest man in the Bible.
Re: Humorous Tidbit Test: Where is Tennis Mentioned in the Bible?
Very good, Marilyn, you're exactly right! That's the only answer I know.
Re: Can You Pass the Humility Test?
I think that insecurity is at the root of your humility test and all its trophy winners.
Re: My Dream Is Telling Me Something—But What? (#22)
In my dream I came into a room and there was a man from church there. This man I have known since I was 12. I smiled and was talking to other people in the room but didn't greet him with a hug until he said "arent' you going to give me a hug." So I went over to him. As we talked and laughed about things I noticed that his hair was darker and he got trimmer and trimmer. He was smiling and happy.
Re: Jesus Defeats the Witches' Brew—But Show Me How!(#21)
Levi J. Your bell is a bell of dismissal. It was supposed to awaken those away in astro projection, deep trances and soul transfers. This type of bell never rings unless its owner is in one of the afore mentioned states. This bell cannot be destroyed by normal means as they normally have upto 8 souls of warriors attached to it. The bell is harmless.
Re: Jesus Defeats the Witches' Brew—But Show Me How!(#21)
J.T. Somalian men never forgive a woman who offends them or challenges them. Even in their prayers they continue to issue curses against those who have offended them. But it appears that your heart is not free to forgive them either. You are wide open to accept their curses.
Re: Why Do You or Don't You Observe Christmas and New Years?
Of course not! We keep the Holy Days as outlined in the Bible- came here from a google search- where/how do you keep them? I cannot seem to find that information here!
Re: Humorous Tidbit Test: Where is Tennis Mentioned in the Bible?
We are asking if anyone knows why Paul was like a horse.
Re: Humorous Tidbit Test: Where is Tennis Mentioned in the Bible?
Genesis 41:38-46 onward. Joseph "served in Pharaoh's court'. Is there another place where tennis is mentioned?
Re: Can You Pass the Humility Test?
Oh yes, passed the humility test years ago, I can humbly admit that...It is great to see so many humility awards and trophies going out. Pastor Robert is so humble he congratulates me all the time on my humility. It's great.... ;)
Re: Can You Pass the Humility Test?
I find humble people are very very boring. I think that all they want to do is talk about is themselves and how much sex they have enjoyed. Do you think we could find some sort of better word for them?
Re: Can You Pass the Humility Test?
I think it's time we invited Pastor Hugh Potter into this discussion. We tease each other about being the most humble pastors, to the point that I often refer to him as Pastor Hugh-mility. I think that makes me more humble than him. Come on...join in, Pastor Hu-mility. Show us how humble you are! But don't be proud of it!
Re: Can You Pass the Humility Test?
Levi, you seem to be such a basic humble fellow, I think that you should have had a statue made of yourself so that more people whould be able to see you and remember your as a most profound humble man.
Re: Can You Pass the Humility Test?
Steve, I get your pun. I made my humility placque simple. I put my picture in the center with 12 red roses around it. An a script below that said, "To the Most Humble Man ALIVE". It looks great. What were you planning?
Re: Can You Pass the Humility Test?
Levi, I am very humble and believe I deserve a trophy also. Discribe how you made yours and what it looks like so that we do not douplicate your design.
