Money Matters?
Well, does money matter? It matters too much oftentimes when you have a lot of it, and it can matter too much when you are attacked financially. When we are under financial attack, it’s probably a good time to write about it, since in so doing we will be preaching to ourselves (See our pdf, “
Prosperity Declarations”).
One important thing we need is what my wife and I realized we needed as our marriage was attacked on the very night when we spent money on a fifth anniversary evening. We realized we needed what that number five signifies, grace, empowerment to lay down fully to Jesus all the pains of our previous marriages and the pains we have caused each other in these five years. And we also know we need much grace or empowerment in our finances.
On the eve of this second Benjamin Blessing fast, as we agree with those who missed the first, we remind ourselves of the five times greater blessings of provision promised to those who claim this blessing.
We have been enjoined to meditate for five minutes each week on the concept of eternity. Perhaps this Sabbath day, the day that prophesies eternity, is a good time to reflect on eternity from the point of view of finances. After all, as we look at the heavens and as we read God’s Word, we realize that our Father is an extravagant God who doesn’t need to be concerned about money, and He tells us His children not to worry about money matters.
In essence, money doesn’t really matter, or shouldn’t matter to us. Adam had to toil after he sinned. We don’t (Prov. 10:22). Solomon tells us, “Do not weary yourself to gain wealth…” (Prov. 23:4). Put first things first, love and serve God above all else, pay Him the tenth of your increase, and all the other things will come automatically (Mat. 6:33; Mat. 23:23; Mal. 3:8-10). Whatever we choose to do financially, we must do in faith and wisdom, trusting Jesus, not ourselves.
In view of eternity, what are our present financial challenges compared to the “eternal weight of glory” coming (2 Cor. 4:17)? And why be concerned about money when we have an unlimited God who can give us all the wealth we need.
The key is to put our hearts in the right place, loving God above everything, including money. God showed us this as He blessed us early on in our ministry, showing us He could do anything to provide for us. And the outpouring of miracle money, which was given for a time to show us God was not limited, started with our apostle seeking to help others do the Work of God. A lady evangelist was visiting Edmonton, and Gerald asked God in faith for $1000 to give her for her ministry so she could return. I saw it with my own eyes as the money came into his hands at the church service we attended. I saw $350 appear in four stages in my Bible when I called on help to pay some unexpected taxes.
The God who owns everything has no problems blessing those who call on Him in faith. However, because He does not always respond in spectacular ways, we sometimes see Him as limited, which He is not. He is waiting on us to step out in faith.
Gerald received miraculous provision because He chose to love God above money with all his heart. We don’t know now how God is going to pour out the fivefold blessing of miraculous provision, but we do know this: “He who trusts in his riches will fall, But the righteous will flourish like the green leaf.”
Are we ready to turn over a new leaf and see ourselves flourish like the green leaf? The unbelievers seek the financial blessings, says God, “But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

Re: Money Matters?
Is your prosperity measage not just another example to teaching people to love money above God and the sacrifices of Jesus?

Re: Money Matters?
Larry, We realize that teaching God wants us to prosper in every way is labeled as a gospel of health and wealth or the prosperity gospel, which is a false label. We preach only the gospel of the Kingdom of God. However, that message includes prosperity. How can it not? Read God's will in 3 John 2. He wants us to prosper in every way as our soul prospers. If our soul isn't prospering, what good is money? When our soul prospers, we can have the funds to preach the gospel of the Kingdom. The poor can't do that. We are to preach the gospel to the poor so they don't stay poor spiritually or financially. People love to categorize ministries, and some have indeed exaggerated and worship money. That is not our goal. Why do you call ours a prosperity message. It is a Kingdom message that includes prosperity. We focus on Jesus, His Kingdom, and His righteousness. We reject all false labels, in Jesus' name.

Re: Money Matters?
Did God not say that we will always have the poor among us. Could it be that they have the wrong goals in life that they must say poor?

Re: Money Matters?
My husband left me last night to go live with his new boyfriend. He took all my money from my savings jars, the childrens savings, cleaned out our bank account and even to my grandmothers coin collection. Why would leave us without food, money and a pile of bills? I have been a very good wife to him. What would make him decide to go after a guy? Should i take him back if he tries to come back after he stole all our money?

Re: Money Matters?
Norma, WAKE UP! Your husband left you to commit adultry with another guy, this is serriously wrong. If he decided that he likes men after your were married, it would never end, he is no longer pleased to dwell with you regardless of what he may say in the future. It is divorce time. The money is replacable but not the sanctity of marriage which he has broken.

Re: Money Matters?
Norma, what are you thinking, get rid of that guy as fast as you can get to the divorce lawyer. Any man who still your childrens money is a worm not a man any longer. And to go after another guy is just discusting. It is time you start thinking differently.

Re: Money Matters?
Fran, There are many reasons why poverty comes for a long term stay upon a person. One of the biggest is that they refuse to sow for what they need, instead they try to get or steal, or scam their way through life. This always lead to proverty upon losses. And the next is a refusal to give the truth of Gods word a try.

Re: Money Matters?
If one has sown and given thanks and God still has not answered after a long period of time, does that mean that God is unable to do what he said he would in bringing in prosperity?

Gordon, Prosperity is an extremely broad word that means all that and more.

Re: Money Matters?
Gordon, I found your question very interesting so I have been praying for understanding on it for the last few days. Prosperty means that you have full favor and blessing in every area of your life that your Father can think of blessing you with and in. Money or financial wealth is only about 1/200th of what mentions in his word that he wants to bless upon you.

Re: Money Matters?
Hammel, It is not possible for our Father to break his promises. It is very possible that you have not made yourself ready for the kingdom or the kingdom work. If you are seeking money ahead of your desire to know and be like Jesus than the increase can not flow. And remember you have to seek the king under the conditions set by the Father.
