Keeping the Passover at home
These notes are from a recent Passover service in order to help those who want to take Passover but do not have anywhere to attend with a group of believers.
We are here at a very special occasion and for a very special covenant agreement. It was prophesied by Job to occur and be established in Job 10:8-22.
8 Your hands fashioned and programmed, and made me totally like You, and with that established why would you seek to destroy me?
9 Remember NOW, that you made me like You and out of clay, so why would you desire to see me turn to dust again?
What Job said in these two verses established that Jesus was the Maker, Designer, and Life giver to man whom He had created in His image. Job was reminding God of Gen 1:26: "We shall make man in Our image, according to Our likeness and let them rule .
And again in Gen 2:7 -- 7Then the Creator God formed man of the dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
When Job reminded Jesus of His word on this point, he confirmed that Jesus must take responsibility for His creation. He must establish the way for restoration, redemption, and release. Job said, in essence, "REMEMBER, Jesus, You have made me and You must show me the way to get right and stay right with You.
Look now at Job 10:12-14.
12 You have granted me life and Your loving kindness, and Your tender caring has preserved my spirit. Job was saying to God that His love and tender caring were putting barriers to the will of evil to destroy mankind. And that one who is chosen comes under even more special treatment.
13 Yet these things You have concealed in Your heart away from man, however I KNOW that this is within You.
Job was saying that God's heart was so full of love for him that He had to conceal it from Himself for a time appointed. God wants mankind walking in righteousness and delivered from all the falseness that the devil can devise or scheme to entrap man into.
14 If I sin, then You would know and take note of me, and You would not just acquit me of my guilt. If I sin, I have to come to You to be forgiven and cleansed.
God does not just okay sin, and acquit anyone of his or her guilt. He has a method or plan for bringing one back into righteousness.
When we fail to walk in righteousness we need Jesus, His sacrifice and His blood to cleanse us and heal us of the sins involved.
Job was saying in essence, "You made me like you, yet we are always needing Jesus for we are a soul and spirit in an earth suit that needs redemption and a spiritual infusion."
Again we see in Isa 6:9 And He said , "Go, and tell this people, Keep on looking, but do not understand."
Paraphrased, verse 10 would say;
"Render the hearts of this people insensitive, keep their ears dull, and their eyes dim, unless they see with their eyes 'MY SECRET', and hear the purpose of my plans and holy days with their ears…and understand My laws of love with their hearts and seek to change their ways to MY WAYS and then discover that they are healed."
Jesus said Christians would find out that by the stripes He took they are healed but only the chosen elect would know Him and the secrets of the Father's heart that can only be understood in the Passover.
Isa. 6:12. "12The Eternal has removed men far away." Their unwillingness to love God by obedience to the Word of God means that they would loose the Passover, the real Jesus, and the real salvation offered to those who submit and change.
And in Isa. 6:13 we see the result of God allowing the things of the earth to be shaken.
13 "Yet there will be a tenth portion in it and it will be subjected to burning, like a TER-eb-inth or oak tree whose stump remains when it is felled. The holy seed it is stump."
The land will be desolate of non-believers and l/10th of those left alive will be the believers. When those left are tested only the very elect are left as a holy seed because they had the testimony of Jesus in the Passover and the blood of the Lamb as a shield. They will know the real Jesus and have the anointing of understanding of the Passover in order to be the remaining stump or holy seed.
Now take John 13:8 into account with the above understanding. Peter said to Him, "8NEVER shall You wash my feet." Peter was saying that he was going to be his own deliverer, that his own efforts were going to make him holy, righteous, and acceptable to the Father. He was going to earn his own way into heaven by his own strength and wisdom. He was going to deny the blood of the Lamb and the testimony of Jesus in changing his life. Peter said to Jesus, "I do not want to LET You change my walk in life." And that is exactly why Satan has been able to convince the Christian world to reject Jesus as Savior and Redeemer in favor of the self help programs and the doing of dead works.
And when we look at the fullness of what Jesus responded to Peter we see the secret heart of God's plan revealed. "IF I DO NOT WASH YOU, YOU HAVE NO PART WITH ME, IN ME, OF ME, or for ME."
Jesus told Peter that to be right with God the Father, Peter would have to open himself up, turn himself over to the Father, and that he must understand this secret of God, or he could not have Jesus in him. Also make note and remember that Jesus said this just before the covenant of the Passover meal was eaten.
And in doing so He must give us life, new habits, new thoughts, prosperity, fullness, peace and joy.
- The secret is that everything relies on Jesus.
- Jesus must be given every sin in order to get freedom from it.
- Jesus must deliver you from every bondage, stronghold and all bad habits.
- Jesus must bring you into righteousness.
- Jesus must establish His glory on you and in you in order for you to have worth and fullness of identity.
- Jesus must give you the way of rest and your validation.
- Jesus must give you all opportunities to build your faith.
- Jesus must save you from your shortcomings.
- Jesus must take all of your dreads, your regrets, your fears, your shame, your guilt, and your doubts.
- Jesus must take away all of your debts.
- And it is Jesus who must take away all of deaths stings of pain, weaknesses, diseases, illnesses, infirmities, mental and physical disabilities.
- And in doing so He must give us life, new habits, new thoughts, prosperity, fullness, peace and joy.
You see that when we have Jesus in the Passover, it allows us to pass over from death to life and have a real life that is worth living, that is full of life and overflowing abundance of every good gift from a very good Father.
Consider this: Passover makes the way straight and level for our feet. We no longer have to walk as betrayers, fall into failures and regrets, or be burdened with rejections, sicknesses, worthlessness, and hopelessness. We can walk HAND IN HAND WITH JESUS. We can TURN OVER to Jesus every thing He paid for and we can walk uprightly because of what Jesus has already done. Therefore we can be presented to our Father in full righteousness this night and forevermore.
Jesus gave us His cross to hang all things of death upon and when we use it we are set free.
Jesus gave us His blood to wash us clean and establish His covenant seal of life over us.
And He gave us His body to establish our rights to our freedom and our commitment to the ways of love.
Lets not let pride or arrogance steel the freedom and truth of the Passover for the counterfeit of deceptions that Satan offers in Easter and the dead works programs.
This Passover is for you. The Days of Unleavened Bread are for you. So don't miss the opening key to wholeness that we have available in Jesus. Turn over to Jesus all that He paid for and claim your life in the presence of the Father.
PASSOVER: THE FOOT WASHING
In John 13:12 Jesus said something that we are still learning to understand more fully even unto this day.
"12And so when He had washed their feet, and taken back on his garments, and reclined at table again, He said to them, "Do you know what I have done to you?"
Jesus asked them if they understood that He had shown them the way to wash away the sting and pits caused by betrayal.
Do you know that I have just washed you clean of all your betrayal of Me and My Father?
Do you know that I have washed your feet so that you may now choose to walk in the light and to the light as the chosen of GOD?
Do you know that I have now opened the way for Our Father, Myself and the Holy Spirit to abide in you and for your spirit man to grow?
Do you know that by me washing your feet that I am releasing you into your authority to forgive the sins of others. As Jesus later revealed in John 20:23,"If you forgive the sins of any one, their sins have been forgiven them."
Do you know that as you wash one another's' feet in love you will have the power to cover a multitude of sins?
Do you know that you have the power and authority to declare another believer clean in your eyes and in God's eyes?
Do you know that as you wash one another's feet you show your love one for another and become the ambassadors of the Kingdom of God?
Jesus said in John 13:13-15,"13You call Me Teacher and Master, and you are right; for so I am.
14 I then, the Teacher and the Master, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet.15 For I gave you an example that you also should do as I did to you.
We will now do as Jesus has commanded us. We will wash each other's feet and be clean and acceptable to our Father. In a prayer of agreement we now declare:
"Father, we now present ourselves as the Body of Jesus to be washed clean of all residue of death, of all betrayal, and of all sickness and lack.
We release our pride, selfishness, and self will to Jesus for the acceptance of Your will in our life. Thank you, Father for this Passover and its freedom in Jesus' name. Amen
[Take your towels and proceed to the designated areas. Men to the south back wall. Women to the left or east wall.]
And when you wash one another's feet declare the following: "I see you clean in God's sight and in my eyes."
[After you have finished washing one another's feet return to your seat quickly so that others may precede. Thank you.
COMMUNION: THE BODY
Father, we come together to bless the bread to be the Body of Jesus that was broken for us. And we thank You for the Body of Jesus that allows us to have this communion with You. In Jesus name we rejoice and give thanks. Amen.
Have the Body given out. When it has been given out, declare:
Father as the Body of Jesus was broken for us, we now take His Body and declare in covenant:
We have been bought with a price into sonship by Jesus for Your family and Your Kingdom.
We release the pulls of our flesh, the pride of life, and our thoughts for Your thoughts, our ways for Your ways and our words for Your words.
We release to Jesus of the cross all our shortcomings, our weaknesses, our wrong words, our doubts, our shames, our regrets, our losses, our debts, our wrong habits and traditions, our dreads and our fears. We acknowledge that we had no right to claim back what Jesus had paid for on the cross.
We know these things and are now blessed because we do them. Therefore we claim in Jesus His righteousness, His goodness, His prosperity, and His peace for our lives.
And a Jesus said in John 13:19-20,
"19You may believe that I, Jesus, am He 'who redeems and saves'. 20Truly, Truly, I say to you: he who receives whomever I send receives ME? And whosoever receives ME receives Him who sent ME."
Now, Father, as we take and break the body of Jesus we declare our teachability, our willingness to submit our will to You, Father and to receive Your blessings and anointings as a working priority in our lives.
Break the Body and say: To You, Father, we submit in joy and in thankfulness. Amen and amen.
Father, as we have poured this cup of wine for the Passover communion to celebrate with You and to be sealed in covenant to You, we now ask for a blessing upon the wine to be the blood of Jesus and we give thanks for it in Jesus name.
Have the Passover Cups passed out.
Father as we now hold the Blood of Jesus and His life, we declare in covenant with you:
That in this blood we are sealing into our minds and hearts all that was of your thoughts and teachings in this Passover service.
That we are established with all the children of God in joint covenant for growing, for changing, and for accepting Your corrections in our life.
That we accept our healing in Jesus, our prosperity in Jesus, our future in Jesus, and all the plans you have for us in gratitude for the freedom that we have in Jesus.
That we acknowledge that our destiny is to be kings and priests for your Kingdom now and forever.
That we accept your gift of forgiveness and the authority to forgive others.
That we will allow Your word into our hearts so that from its abundance our mouth will speak.
And that in all aspects of the Passover we reaffirm our love and commitment to our God now and forevermore. We are changed in the lifeblood of Jesus to be more like You, Father, with every day that you have given us.
And we give thanks for all that you have given us in rejoicing, testimony and song. Forever more we give thanks in Jesus Name. Amen and amen.
